Collar

 

We are taking our Chin-Up Collars opensource.

 

Beyond just making our collars sizeable and DIY, we canÕt wait

to see all the different looks you can make by altering basic:

á      cup shapes

á      cup sizes (all on size, or some bigger, some smaller)

á      number of cups

á      cup spacing

á      number of connection points between cups

and by:

á      adding layers/other shapes inside the cups

á      adding windbreaker back

á      adding a container bag for your cup shape.

 

We havenÕt yet developed the super sophisticated Flash

software that will let you make your own design, but we have

made a basic pattern from which to improv.

 

Make your own Chin-Up Collar in paper or textile!

 

Do-It-Yourself Pattern

 

Steps:

1.    Print out the following pages:

á      Straps

á      Cups 1-4

á      Cups 6-10

á      Cups 11-15

á      Cups 16-20

 

2.    Cut the paper shapes out

 

3.     If  you are going to use cloth or leather, pin

paper shapes to the textile and cut them out.

 

4.    Sew or tape straps A &B together.

 

5.    Sew or tape cup bases onto straps.

 

6.    Sew neighboring cups (i.e. 1 &2) together along their edges,

but leave their tops open.

 

7.    Open cups by sewing/taping a single connection to the adjacent cup pairs (ie. Sew one little connection between cup 3&4).

 

8.    Sew snaps onto strap to attach around your neck.
